Dr. Ramakanta Panda, MBBS, MCh (Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery) is the Founder & Chairman and Chief Consultant of Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery at The Asian Heart Institute, Mumbai, India.
Dr. Panda is recognized as the No 1 Cardiac Surgeon in India and is considered the Safest Heart Surgeon in the world. He has successfully performed over 29,000 Cardiac Surgeries, including more than 2,000 Redo Surgeries and over 6,000 High-risk Surgeries.
Dr. Panda specialises in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting using only Arterial Grafts, Beating Heart Surgery, Redo Bypass Surgery, Valve Repair, and Complex Aneurysms. His exceptional skills and expertise have led to a remarkable success rate of 99.5% in Bypass Surgery.
Dr. Panda is credited as a pioneer in various innovative surgical techniques. He introduced the concept of “Total Arterial Revascularization” and played a significant role in the development of “Off-pump” Bypass Surgery. Furthermore, he is highly regarded for his expertise in Redo Bypass Surgery and High-risk Surgeries. In 2016, Medgate recognized Dr. Panda as the No 1 Cardiac Surgeon and one of the 26 living legends in Healthcare in India.
